OMR sheet scanner for coaching institutes, using a phone

How it works

• Write the paper in ExamPlus, or bring the questions in from a Word or Excel file.
• Print one OMR sheet per student. Each sheet already carries the student's name, class and code.
• Students fill the bubbles during the test, as on any OMR sheet.
• A teacher or a helper scans the stack with a phone.
• Check anything the reader was not sure of, then publish. Each student sees their marks on your portal.

What is on the sheet

• Up to 100 questions, each with options A, B, C and D.
• The student's code, printed and filled in before the test. Whose sheet it is comes from the sheet itself, not from the order the stack is scanned in.
• Corner markers and calibration bubbles, so a photo taken at an angle or of a creased sheet still reads.
• Your institute's name at the top. Marks per question and negative marking are set for each test.

Nothing is guessed

A mark the reader is not confident about is never filled in for the student. It goes to a teacher, who decides.

A sheet whose code cannot be read is set aside as unknown. It is never given to the nearest name on the roll.

A mark corrected after publishing moves the class ranks with it.

Who can scan

Any staff login can scan. There is also a scanner only login for whoever is free on the day. It reads sheets and nothing else. It cannot publish marks and cannot open another class.

The same paper online

A paper can be sat on paper, online, or both. Online, students sit it on any phone or laptop with a timer the whole class shares, and it is marked the moment they hand it in.

What it costs

The scanner is part of the platform. ₹40 per student per month for the whole platform, with no setup fee. The smallest monthly bill is ₹2,000, which covers up to 50 students. Pay for a year and 10 months are charged, not 12.
